My recent study is on sentiment analysis from Blog posts.  I wrote some prototype programs on evaluating the mood similarity and the mood trend.  I prefer plotting graphs that help me with exploring the relations among varied information sources such as my previous plotting on analyzing the news entities.  The relations between news entities were calculated and mined knowledge were used to rerank the returned results from the search engine but the attempt was temporarily suspended.
